Contacting Patients

Contacting PatientsSt. Mary's Healthcare Center knows how important communication is when you or someone you love needs medical treatment. Therefore, we provide a number of tools to help facilitate the communication process in order to ease the burden on patients and their families.

First, people can contact the admissions desk by calling 224-3100. As long as the patient has agreed to be listed on the registry, our admissions people will be happy to transfer calls to patients' rooms.

If you already know the room number, you can dial them directly. If the room number is three digits you can reach them by dialing 224-3(room number). If the room number is four digits you can reach them by dialing 224-(room number).

We also have developed a patient e-Card service. This service allows family and friends to send cards to people who are receiving In-Patient services at St. Mary's. People wishing to take advantage of this service can simply go to the e-Card section of the website, pick out a card, enter the patient's name, a personal message and signature. An RSVP volunteer then prints the card on high quality paper and hand delivers it to the patient. This service is monitored Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm. Cards can only be delivered to patients who are admitted, so if you send your card at 5pm Friday night and the patient is discharged over the weekend, they may not receive your well wishes.

St. Mary's is also happy to provide a link to CaringBridge. CaringBridge® offers free personalized websites that allow people to stay in touch with family and friends during a health crisis, treatment and recovery. The goal of the service is to ease the burden of keeping friends and family updated, while also providing a way for them to send their love, support and encouragement.

St. Mary's Healthcare Center believes in caring for the whole person and understands that means also easing tensions for loved ones. We are happy to facilitate communication with patients and their loved ones and believe that love and support are two of the best medicines a person can have while recovering.
