Same Day Surgery
When having surgery, people
just feel better when they are closer to home. St. Mary's Healthcare Center's
seven bed Same Day Surgery Suite provides a convenient and comfortable
environment for all out patient surgical procedures, right here in your
backyard. Patients admitted to the hospital for same day surgical procedures can
check in and receive virtually all of the care they need, including education
and recovery in one convenient setting.
Same Day Surgery includes prompt admission and simplified discharge procedures translating into lower medical expenses for the patient and less time separated from family, friends and home. In fact, family members and friends are encouraged to participate in the patients' surgical experience during the admission process, and again as soon as possible after surgery, so that the only time a patient needs to be separated from the comfort of familiar faces, is during the procedure and in the main recovery room. Participation is also encouraged in patient's post operative care, discharged planning and education.
Once a patient has returned home from same day surgery, follow-up calls will be made by a registered nurse to monitor the patient's progress, problems, concerns and evaluate the patient's surgical experience and outcomes.
Same Day Surgery Suites
Our Same Day Surgery Department features technologically advanced operating
suites, so that most all of the patient's needs can be met right in the rooms.
However if there is something extra the patient needs they would never have to
travel far from the unit for care.
