Rehabilitation Services
Rehabilitation
Services includes occupational therapy, physical therapy, speech therapy,
massage therapy and cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation. All areas provide
individualized care to people of various ages within the community.
Services are provided in various settings depending on the need. Outpatients are usually seen in the department on fourth floor of the North building. On occasion, they are seen in the workplace or at the YMCA as needed for their treatment plan. We see inpatients in the hospital and at the transitional care unit, bringing them to the rehabilitation services department when appropriate. Maryhouse residents are seen in their home environment or in the exercise area at Maryhouse. Patients are seen in their home for services as needed. We also provide therapy to children in local schools, daycares and homes.
The goal of rehabilitation services is to allow a person to be pain free with the best mobility, strength and ability possible.
Patients or massage clients are seen by a licensed professional to receive care in a comfortable environment. State of the art equipment is available in the department for optimal comfort, conditioning and monitoring.
