Speech Therapy
The
Speech Therapy Department works with patients who have speech and swallowing
problems.
Patients learn to retrain muscles to do the work of those which were damaged by illness or disease.
Patients of the Speech Therapy Department may be in the St. Mary's Hospital, Maryhouse long-term care facility, Transitional Care Unit, or on an outpatient basis. St. Mary's Speech Therapists use a variety of treatments to assist the patient in recovery.
St. Mary's Speech Therapy Department is located on the fourth floor of the North Building.
Large windows provide an open view of Griffin Park and the Missouri River. Access to this department can be gained from St. Mary's main entrance/lobby. Patient/visitor parking is available in the north parking lot between St. Mary's and Sioux Avenue, on Dakota Avenue, and other surrounding parking lots and streets.
